We really had to pivot this year, didn’t we? After eight months into a global pandemic, we have had to revisit what health means to each of us and our families.

We’ve had to shift the way we live our lives in every way.

  • less socializing and interaction with people

  • no more gym time

  • no more commutes to work

  • no more going out on Fridays

  • canceled events, weddings, birthdays

But we did it. Some of us went home. Some of us made more phone calls. Some of us took the time to get to know ourselves again. But you know what we all have in common? All of us had to take our health into our own hands and work with what we had available to us. We took responsibility for our own mind and body.

We are so resilient, yet sometimes, we lack that motivation to keep moving forward when we have to continue to bend and shape ourselves around the world’s happenings around us.

Today, I want to talk about how having an online fitness trainer can help you stay accountable in times like these. We are all craving a sense of direction - in our mind and body. We need accountability to take responsibility for our health and our well-being.

Here are five ways you can stay accountable with online fitness training:

1. GOAL SETTING

First, when you are considering online fitness training, you have to ask  yourself, “what is my goal?” If we don’t know our goals, we won’t know where we want to go, and then we won’t start. So once you know where you want to go - in your mind, body, or spirit, then we can get started. Online fitness training helps you start with a goal and to make space in your day for it. At NWMethod, we hit the mat at noon every day. We make it a habit. Maybe your hour is different, and that is okay. But every day, we show up for an hour and use every ounce of energy we have to move our bodies and change our minds.

2. FITNESS CHALLENGES

NW Method has had such a wonderful opportunity this year to work with so many incredible people through our fitness challenges. Challenges help us to set a collective fitness goal and work together to make it happen. We celebrate each milestone, we learn more about ourselves, and we grow together.

3. ON-DEMAND VIDEO

NW CHURCH has a full library of on-demand programs that focus on shaping your problem areas, enhancing your curves, and helping you discover your spirituality, creativity, and body-appreciation through fitness. You have options to choose a six week or twelve week program, targeted time and body part videos, or choosing hour long videos that suit your taste. You can work out to these at your own pace or join along with a few members of the #NWCREW to have accountability partners.

 4. #NWCREW COMMUNITY

Another great asset to your online fitness journey with NW Method is having a community of individuals working towards the same goals as you are and having that added connection tool throughout your health journey. The #NWCrew meets weekly on a zoom call, where we share our progress, and engage in live coaching with Nicole.

5. EMPOWERMENT

At the core of every workout, my goal is to leave you feeling empowered. This means choosing to be the person you have always known you could be and not being too scared to share your thoughts and the feelings you feel. This means that you don’t betray yourself and that you love yourself so hard that you change the world with that energy.

So there you have it! At Least five ways an online fitness trainer can help you on your health journey. Sometimes we get stuck in our thoughts, and we are held back by our own limiting belief that working out is hard. Setting goals, participating in workouts, and engaging with a community are ways to get out of your mind and not think so hard about what you aren’t capable of doing. Instead, you just do it and think about how capable you are after. I hope to see you on your mat at our next challenge soon!
